Citi credit cards are getting a luxury-level upgrade with the official launch of the Strata Elite card, priced at a steep $595 annual fee. Aimed squarely at high-net-worth customers, Citi is entering the premium card arena to compete directly with the Amex Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve.
The Strata Elite includes exclusive travel and lifestyle perks, such as:
- Priority Pass lounge access
- Up to $250 in annual travel credits
- Elevated rewards on travel, dining, and live entertainment
- VIP event access and curated experiences
Citi is also offering a limited-time welcome bonus of 75,000 ThankYou® Points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. This bonus alone carries a value of approximately $750 when redeemed for travel.

To stand out, Citi partnered with Mastercard World Elite and offers benefits like global concierge services, cell phone protection, and no foreign transaction fees. The sleek metal design mirrors the trend set by competitors but delivers Citi’s unique touch with deeper integrations into its banking ecosystem.
The move marks a bold expansion of Citi credit cards, signaling the bank’s intent to reclaim ground in the premium credit market. Until now, Citi lagged behind Amex and Chase in this category.
Industry experts believe the card could be a hit among digitally savvy millennials and Gen Z professionals looking for high-end benefits backed by a global brand.
Whether Citi’s gamble will disrupt the luxury card hierarchy remains to be seen, but the Strata Elite is clearly designed to make a statement.
