Texas Roadhouse Thanksgiving Christmas closures are confirmed for the two major holidays in 2026, with restaurants scheduled to close nationwide on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, and Christmas Day, December 25. The restaurant chain traditionally gives its employees these holidays off, allowing families to celebrate at home. Customers planning steak dinners, takeout orders, or visits with relatives should arrange their meals before the closures and check their local restaurant’s schedule for surrounding dates.
Texas Roadhouse is a popular American steakhouse known for hand-cut steaks, ribs, freshly baked rolls, and made-from-scratch sides. Its holiday closures matter to customers who rely on the restaurant for family meals throughout the year.
The most important distinction is between the two full closure dates and the surrounding holiday schedule. Thanksgiving and Christmas Day are nationwide closure dates, while Christmas Eve and other nearby operating days may follow location-specific hours.
Here is what customers should know about the 2026 holiday calendar, reopening dates, ordering options, and ways to plan ahead.
Texas Roadhouse Thanksgiving Closure in 2026
Texas Roadhouse will be closed on Thursday, November 26, 2026, for Thanksgiving. The closure applies to its U.S. restaurant locations, so customers should not expect regular dine-in service on that day.
Thanksgiving is one of the busiest family dining holidays in the United States. Many people look for restaurants that serve traditional meals, while others prefer steakhouse food as an alternative to turkey and stuffing.
However, Texas Roadhouse does not operate its regular restaurant service on Thanksgiving Day. Customers who want its steaks, ribs, sides, or signature rolls should plan a visit before the holiday or after the restaurant reopens.
The closure also affects customers who usually place takeout orders. Because the restaurant is closed, customers should not plan on picking up a regular restaurant order on Thanksgiving itself.
Thanksgiving 2026 Schedule
| Date | Day | Expected operating status |
|---|---|---|
| November 25, 2026 | Wednesday | Open; local hours apply |
| November 26, 2026 | Thursday | Closed for Thanksgiving |
| November 27, 2026 | Friday | Expected to reopen; confirm local hours |
| November 28, 2026 | Saturday | Regular weekend schedule may apply |
| November 29, 2026 | Sunday | Check local operating hours |
The table reflects the announced holiday closure and the usual operating pattern around Thanksgiving. Each restaurant’s posted schedule remains the best source for its precise opening and closing times on surrounding dates.
Why Texas Roadhouse Closes on Thanksgiving
The restaurant’s Thanksgiving closure follows its established holiday practice of allowing employees to spend the day with their families.
Restaurant work often requires employees to serve customers during evenings, weekends, and other periods when many people are off work. A nationwide holiday closure gives team members time away from regular restaurant operations.
For customers, the policy also makes planning easier. Instead of arriving at a restaurant that operates on reduced holiday hours, diners can arrange an alternative meal or schedule their visit for another day.
Texas Roadhouse Christmas Closure in 2026
Texas Roadhouse will also close on Friday, December 25, 2026, for Christmas Day.
Christmas Day is the second major holiday closure covered by the chain’s established annual schedule. Customers should not expect regular dine-in, takeout, or restaurant-operated delivery service while locations remain closed.
The closure affects customers who want to visit the restaurant after opening presents, meet relatives for dinner, or avoid cooking at home. Anyone planning a Texas Roadhouse meal during Christmas week should account for the December 25 shutdown.
Unlike restaurants that open for limited Christmas Day service, Texas Roadhouse follows a full-day closure policy. Customers should make alternative arrangements rather than relying on a last-minute visit.
Christmas 2026 Schedule
| Date | Day | Expected operating status |
|---|---|---|
| December 23, 2026 | Wednesday | Open; local hours apply |
| December 24, 2026 | Thursday | Christmas Eve; hours may be reduced |
| December 25, 2026 | Friday | Closed for Christmas Day |
| December 26, 2026 | Saturday | Expected to reopen; confirm local hours |
| December 27, 2026 | Sunday | Check the local restaurant schedule |
Christmas Eve is different from Christmas Day. Many restaurants operate on December 24 but may close earlier than usual. Customers should verify the schedule at their particular Texas Roadhouse rather than assuming that normal Friday or weekday hours apply.
The same caution applies to December 26. Although restaurants are expected to resume service after Christmas, customers should check the location’s published hours before making a special trip.
Is Texas Roadhouse Open on Christmas Eve?
Texas Roadhouse locations generally operate on Christmas Eve, but hours can differ by restaurant.
Thursday, December 24, 2026, falls on Christmas Eve. Some locations may shorten their operating day to help employees prepare for the holiday. The exact closing time should be confirmed locally.
Customers who want a steak dinner before Christmas Day should consider visiting earlier rather than arriving close to closing time. A shorter operating day can affect the amount of time available for dining and takeout.
Before leaving home, customers should:
- Check their restaurant’s official location listing.
- Call the restaurant to confirm its Christmas Eve opening and closing times.
- Ask whether takeout orders will be available near closing.
- Check any posted holiday notices before traveling.
These steps can help avoid an unnecessary trip, particularly for families traveling to meet relatives or customers planning a meal around a busy holiday schedule.
Will Texas Roadhouse Be Open on Black Friday?
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving.
Texas Roadhouse is expected to resume restaurant service on Black Friday under its usual operating pattern. However, customers should verify local hours because a regular Friday schedule is not a guarantee of a specific holiday opening time.
Black Friday can bring additional activity to shopping areas and restaurants. Customers who plan to eat after shopping may find it useful to check their local restaurant’s waitlist options before leaving home.
The day after Thanksgiving can also be a practical opportunity for families who missed their preferred Texas Roadhouse meal during the holiday itself. Rather than attempting to visit on Thanksgiving, diners can plan for a meal after reopening.
Customers should remember that Black Friday is not Thanksgiving Day. The closure applies to November 26, while November 27 is a separate operating day.
When Will Texas Roadhouse Reopen After Christmas?
Texas Roadhouse is expected to resume operations on Saturday, December 26, 2026, following its Christmas Day closure.
The restaurant’s normal weekend schedule may apply, but individual locations determine their posted hours. Customers should check those hours before visiting, especially if they intend to arrive early or travel a considerable distance.
December 26 is a Saturday, which typically falls within the restaurant’s regular weekend trading period. Still, the holiday calendar alone does not establish an exact opening time for every location.
Customers can prepare by checking the location’s official listing and confirming any special holiday notice. This is particularly helpful for larger family groups that want to coordinate their arrival.
The key point is straightforward: Christmas Day is the full closure date, while December 26 is the expected return to service.
Do Thanksgiving and Christmas Closures Affect Takeout Orders?
Yes. A full restaurant closure means customers should not expect regular Texas Roadhouse takeout service on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.
Takeout availability generally follows the restaurant’s operating schedule. If a location is closed for the holiday, customers should not assume they can place an order through the restaurant or collect food at the counter.
Delivery availability also depends on the restaurant’s operations and the services offered at that location. Third-party ordering listings should not be treated as proof that a closed restaurant will prepare food.
Customers who want Texas Roadhouse food during a holiday gathering should arrange their purchase before the closure. They should also confirm whether the items they want are available for takeout and whether the restaurant requires advance notice.
A simple plan can prevent last-minute problems:
- Choose the meal and serving time.
- Contact the local restaurant to confirm available ordering options.
- Place the order during an available service period.
- Confirm the pickup date and time.
- Refrigerate perishable food promptly and follow safe food-handling instructions.
Planning ahead is particularly useful for families who want rolls, sides, or restaurant meals to complement a home-cooked holiday dinner.
Can Customers Buy Texas Roadhouse Rolls Before the Holidays?
Texas Roadhouse’s freshly baked rolls and honey cinnamon butter are popular with customers. Some locations offer rolls or related items for takeout, but availability and ordering arrangements can vary.
Customers hoping to serve the rolls at Thanksgiving or Christmas should contact their local restaurant in advance. They should ask whether the location offers the quantities they need and when pickup is available.
The closure dates make timing important. A customer should not assume that a restaurant will prepare an order on Thanksgiving or Christmas simply because the item appears on an online menu.
For a family gathering, advance ordering can also help customers estimate quantities and coordinate pickup with other meal preparations. Any storage and reheating instructions should come from the restaurant or the food packaging.
How to Check Your Local Texas Roadhouse Holiday Hours
The most reliable way to confirm a specific restaurant’s schedule is to check its official location information and contact the restaurant directly.
Texas Roadhouse restaurants can have different regular opening times, and holiday schedules may differ from normal operating hours. A listing that shows the usual Friday schedule does not necessarily establish Christmas Eve or Black Friday hours.
Customers can use the following checklist:
- Search for the specific restaurant using the official Texas Roadhouse location finder.
- Review its posted hours and any holiday notices.
- Call the restaurant if the holiday schedule is unclear.
- Confirm the date, opening time, closing time, and takeout availability.
- Recheck the schedule before traveling if the visit is still several weeks away.
This approach is especially important for Christmas Eve, when reduced hours may affect dinner plans.
For Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, customers should plan around the nationwide closure rather than looking for an individual restaurant that might remain open.
