Who Is Hosting SNL Tonight?
Jalen Brunson is the host of the September 26, 2026 episode of Saturday Night Live.
This is Brunson’s first time hosting the long-running NBC comedy series.
The announcement came as NBC prepared to launch Season 52. The network revealed the first four hosts and musical guests for the new season earlier in September.
Brunson leads the opening episode, followed by Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis and Inde Navarrette in the next scheduled episodes.
The choice of Brunson is particularly notable because his career is centered on professional basketball rather than entertainment.
His appearance also follows an important season for the New York Knicks.
Why Is Jalen Brunson Hosting SNL?

The championship ended a 53-year wait for the Knicks, making the accomplishment one of the biggest moments in the franchise’s history.
Brunson was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 NBA Finals.
His profile grew substantially during the championship run, putting him in the national spotlight beyond basketball.
That attention comes at a useful time for SNL because the show often brings recognizable personalities from sports, entertainment and popular culture into its hosting chair.
